Job Description

Nova Virtual Solutions is looking for a creative and experienced UI/UX Designer to shape the user interfaces and experiences of our software products. In this role, you will design intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for Nova Virtual Solutions’ projects, including Nova Care’s EVV system and various web and mobile applications developed for the company and its affiliated organizations. Your designs will play a crucial role in ensuring our software is easy to use and visually appealing. This position will start as remote work and later transition to on-site. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in UI/UX design, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and at least one certification or formal training in user experience or design.


Key Responsibilities:

  • User Interface Design: Create and refine the user interface (UI) designs for web and mobile applications in Nova Tech Solutions’ product suite. This includes Nova Care’s EVV web portal and mobile app interfaces, as well as UIs for other software projects for affiliated companies. Ensure that designs are clean, modern, and aligned with the functionality requirements.
  • User Experience Research & Design: Develop user experience (UX) workflows by understanding end-user needs and behaviors. Conduct user research, gather requirements from stakeholders, and translate findings into wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and prototypes. Design intuitive navigation and interaction patterns that make our applications easy to use.
  • Prototyping & Visualization: Use design and prototyping tools (such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar) to create interactive prototypes and high-fidelity mockups. These prototypes will be used to communicate design ideas to the development team and to gather feedback from stakeholders or test users.
  • Collaborating with Development Teams: Work closely with software developers (front-end, mobile) and QA engineers to ensure the feasibility and correct implementation of your designs. Provide developers with necessary design assets (images, icons, style guides) and CSS/HTML guidance if needed. Adjust designs based on technical constraints or feedback while maintaining the integrity of the user experience.
  • Design System & Consistency: Develop and maintain a cohesive design system and style guide for Nova Tech Solutions’ products. Define UI components, color palettes, typography, and other design elements to ensure a consistent look and feel across all platforms (web and mobile). Update the style guide as new design patterns emerge or products evolve.
  • Usability Testing & Iteration: Plan and conduct usability tests or user feedback sessions for new interfaces and features. Identify pain points or confusion in the user interaction, and iterate on designs to improve usability and accessibility. Incorporate accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) to ensure our products are usable by people with disabilities.
  • Graphic Assets & Branding: Ensure that all UI designs adhere to Nova Tech Solutions’ branding guidelines. Create or coordinate the creation of graphic assets (icons, logos, infographics) as needed for the applications. Work with marketing or branding teams (if applicable) to align the product’s visual identity with overall company branding.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keep up with the latest UI/UX trends, tools, and best practices. Suggest improvements to existing UIs and user workflows on an ongoing basis, even outside of major redesigns. Champion the cause of the end-user within the development team, ensuring that user experience considerations are integral to the development process.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of hands-on experience as a UI/UX Designer or Product Designer, working on web and mobile applications.
  • Design Tools: Proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator/Photoshop), or similar. Ability to create wireframes, mockups, and clickable prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas.
  • UX Skills: Strong understanding of UX design principles and methodologies. Experience conducting user research (e.g., interviews, surveys) and usability testing. Ability to create user personas, customer journey maps, and use case scenarios to inform design decisions.
  • UI Skills: Excellent visual design skills with attention to detail. Knowledge of layout, typography, color theory, and modern design trends. Experience designing responsive interfaces that work across different screen sizes and devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
  • Web Technologies: Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript). While coding is not a primary responsibility, understanding how UIs are implemented helps in creating realistic designs and communicating effectively with developers.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication skills to articulate design rationale and present design concepts to stakeholders or clients. Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams and incorporating feedback from project managers, developers, and users.
  • Certifications: At least one relevant certification or formal training in UI/UX or design is preferred. Examples include UX Certification (NN/g UX Certificate), Google UX Design Professional Certificate, or any accredited course in user experience design or human-centered design. These demonstrate a commitment to keeping skills updated.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering polished, high-quality design work. Ability to self-review and ensure consistency across your work (e.g., consistent padding, font usage, alignment).
  • Adaptability: Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities. Comfortable working remotely with a distributed team initially, and prepared to collaborate in-person in an office setting when required.
