Under the supervision of the DMC’s Chief Operating Officer, the Transportation & Mobility Program Manager is responsible for implementing the strategy for meeting parking demand and improving mobility options using transportation demand management (TDM) tools and approaches. This position is expected to serve as the transportation and parking expert for the DMC Staff and will provide direct staff support to the Downtown Mobility Authority (DMA) and The Core TMA, the transportation management association for Downtown Memphis. The Transportation & Mobility Program Manager will also help manage the DMC’s portfolio of public parking garages to improve performance, increase utilization, and enhance the customer experience.
With daily work that is dynamic and varied, the Transportation & Mobility Program Manager can expect to lead the following types of activities and projects:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills; effective public speaking is a must. • Self-starter who pays close attention to detail and can multi-task effectively. • Innovative thinking and experience in public parking operations, transportation demand management, & urban planning best practices.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and able to organize, analyze, and present large amounts of information using spreadsheets, tables, and database software to distill data down to key insights that enable better decision-making.
• Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
• Master’s degree in geography, urban planning, transportation planning, land use planning, marketing, economics, or a similar field, and 2 or more years of work experience OR an Undergraduate degree and a minimum of 4 years related work experience.
• Certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is a plus. • Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is desirable.

Position salary range is dependent on qualifications and experience. Within six months of employment, the selected candidate is expected to reside within Memphis and/or Shelby County, Tennessee.
