About the Position
C2AE is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer for immediate employment in our Transportation Discipline. In this role, you will collaborate with other engineers on all phases of project delivery, serving primarily municipal government clients. This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career in a collaborative environment where you will work on a team and directly impact communities. You'll provide construction oversight services and support critical infrastructure and transportation projects using engineering software. With hands-on exposure to diverse projects and opportunities for professional growth, you'll help shape the future of our built environment.
Role and Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for:
* Utilizing engineering software to design, detail, and modify project plans
* Ensuring project compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulation
* Collaborating with clients, contractors, and project managers to resolve technical and on-site issues
* Performing construction oversight and on-site observation for infrastructure and transportation projects
* Preparing reports, construction records, and technical documentation for project presentations
Engineering and Design (90%):
* Use engineering software to design, draft, detail, and modify engineering project designs/plans utilizing firm specifications.
* Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
* Review designs for compliance with codes and specifications.
* Clarify and resolve technical issues.
* May provide technical assistance with proposals and presentations.
* May write reports and memorandums and assist with project presentations to clients.
* May assist the PM, as requested, in the preparation of cost information.
* Other related duties as assigned.
Administrative (10%):
* Participate in team meetings, all staff meetings, and other planning sessions.
* Participate in training and development activities as needed and directed by supervisor.
* Perform administrative tasks including, but not limited to, time sheet completion, expense reports, completing correspondence, etc.
Qualified candidates will possess the following attributes:
* Bachelor of Science from an ABET-accredited university
* 0-5 years of experience
* Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications, including nuclear density gauge certification, aggregate, concrete, and density testing certifications (preference given to candidates that have current certifications).
* Engineer In Training (EIT), preferred
Physical Qualifications
* Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
* Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
* Physical dexterity and ability to negotiate around a crowded and busy working office area, and around a crowded and busy working area, including construction sites
