SLR International Corporation is seeking a Transportation Engineer Intern to join our Cheshire, Connecticut office. This position offers candidates the opportunity to work under the supervision of licensed professional engineers and other professional staff and contribute to a diverse and challenging range of transportation engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing international engineering and environmental consulting firm.
SLR offers internships to help students get practical work experience in their chosen field. The internship is a temporary seasonal position typically offered during the summer and winter months. This is a non-benefits eligible position.
The Intern will gain hands-on experience working with professional staff and mentors. They will perform assignments designed to utilize and develop professional skills and knowledge that are essential in their chosen field. The intern will assist in work efforts such as collecting and sorting crash history and traffic count data and assisting in the preparation of graphics and design plans using AutoCAD, MicroStation and GIS.
Job Description
We are SLR Consulting (US), a 500+ coast-to-coast team of advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals. Qualifications
- Full time student currently enrolled in a civil engineering, transportation engineering or related 4-year degree program from an accredited college or university
- Familiar with AutoCAD, GIS and other relevant computer software-related programs
- Interest in helping the community
- Current valid driver’s license
