The System DFMEA & DVP Specialist for Transmission, Driveline & Gear Reducer is responsible for all facets of Failure Mode & Effects Analysis and Design Validation Plans for the Transmissions, Drivelines and Reducers at the System Level. They will work closely with other Propulsion System and Vehicle engineering groups which interacting with these systems, including - but not limited to –Product Release Center, Controls, Calibration, Thermal Management, Engine & E-Motor engineering organizations. The Specialist is responsible for development and maintenance of core system level DFMEA & DVP documentation. They will participate in the development of application DFMEAs, DVPs and DRBFs and will ultimately approve them for thoroughness and completion. The Specialist will participate in day-to-day problem-solving activities and feedback lessons learned to the core documents as a continuous improvement methodology.
Responsibilities
Single point technical contact for Transmission, Driveline & Reducer core System DFMEAs
Core System DFMEA & DVP document owner
Application System DFMEA & DVP document approver
Coordinate alignment between system and component DFMEAs
Support day-to-day test execution and DRBTR teardown reviews
Manage implementation of lessons learned through tech infrastructure modifications
Ensure that lessons learned are thoroughly communicated and read across to on-going programs
Core DRBFM and DRBTR template owner
Test procedure document author or co-author for all System test procedures
Lead execution of physical means reduction effort, optimizing development & validation cost/timing
Support the validation of new virtual test methodologies
Support new program ER&D Roll-ups from validation cost perspective
Lead the development of new and unique test procedures for special situation testing
Support warranty problem-solving activities through test plan development
Support cost reduction and resourcing activities through test plan development
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aero, Electrical or equivalent Engineering Degree
Minimum of 8yrs experience in transmission and/or driveline design, development, calibration and testing
Thorough knowledge of DFMEA & DVP documentation, and demonstrated experience in the development of these documents as they pertain to Transmission, driveline and/or EDMs
Must have excellent communication and presentation skills as well as experience with basic PC software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
Candidate must be highly motivated, self-directed, have the ability to manage multiple complex projects
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Engineering
Specific experience with software, calibration, diagnostics, efficiency NVH and/or thermal management
Experience with transmission & driveline testing procedures, in vehicle or on dynamometer, and other related considerations are also highly valued
