Pentex Restaurant Group is seeking a
Training & Support Operations Manager.
Pentex Restaurant Group operates 50 locations in six states (ND, SD, MN, WI, IA, and MT) with nearly 1,200 employees (and growing). We are the leading franchisee of Taco John's restaurants, and we own and operate 2 HuHot Mongolian Grill restaurants. Cooperate Office is located in Fargo, ND.
Summary
The Training & Support Operations Manager plays an influential role in the future expansion and profitable growth of Pentex Restaurant Group (PRG). This field-based role partners with the leadership team to implement, evaluate, and maintain the restaurant training curriculum as well as act as the content expert in engineering, testing, and launching new programs and initiatives. This position oversees the training and development of store leadership across the company, with a focus on delivering industry leading retention rates that result in excellent customer service and profitability. Works effectively as a member of the company's multi-unit leadership team, working collaboratively with the District Managers (DM) and reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations. As part of this role, acting as an unassigned General Manager in a store during leadership transitions across the company will be required as needed and this position can expect to travel 80% of the time.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate with PRG values in mind, serving as a role model for integrity, excellence, humility, and celebration
- Lead the continuing improvement of all training materials to better support the retention of the team and the service of the customers
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of those training materials and programs
- Train and coach others to uphold the company operating standards with consistency
- Assist with the development of strategic plans to test, train and launch initiatives
- Execute special projects that will accelerate operational performance at the company level
- Role model and teach proper opening, closing, safety, and sanitation procedures, cleanliness, and facility maintenance
- Communicate with District Managers as their partner to calibrate and take action on training support
- Inspire leaders to create other leaders by providing them with the tools, training, and follow-up necessary to achieve maximum personal potential and business performance
- Assume full ownership of store operations when acting in an unassigned General Manager role, ensuring that the business is protected and prepared for the next leader
Skills And Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quick service restaurant management in a General Manager role or above required; experience in a manager training role preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience leading project implementation and/or process testing at a district level or above required
- Advanced understanding of QSR restaurant operations with all people and financial metrics
- Capable and experienced with PowerPoint, Adobe, Excel, Word, and Teams technology
- Passionate about working side by side with store teams in a hands-on way
- Curiosity to seek out the inner workings of a process to ensure maximum effectiveness
- Belief in the power of a team and in teaching others how to achieve their potential
- Results oriented with a track record of operating excellence and financial success
- Highly organized with a specialty in follow through and execution amidst change
- Detail oriented in the approach to individualizing the teaching each learner requires
- ServSafe certification required
