Develops and manages the training and apprentice programs for PBC Water Utilities Department (WUD) employees. Develops integrated short- and long-term training programs to ensure that the Department maintains and enhances the competence and skills of its employees, including certification/licensing and Continuing Education Credits (CEUs). Recommends an annual budget and performs analyses of costs associated with training programs including but not limited to books, webinars, computerized programs, textbooks, peripherals, and outside consultants. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of WUD, and is reviewed through weekly meetings conferences, reports and results obtained.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Training and Organizational Development, Human Resources Management, Public/Business Administration, or related field; minimum of three (3) years of experience planning and implementing training programs preferably in the public sector. Equivalencies: Unrelated Bachelor's Degree/related Associate's Degree and five (5) years of related experience OR graduation from high school/equivalent recognized certification AND seven (7) years of related experience.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE IN/WITH: Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Water/Wastewater License/Certification program; training in a government entity. Also desirable: Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole); previous experience as an instructor for adults.
