ABOUT THE JOB Managers and providing guidance in driving positive change in the facility, including development and up skilling of 400+ associates. The key areas of focus are training and implementing the GSF defined improvement process, sustainability and job specific training. Ensures appropriate measurements are developed and implemented to create benchmarks and targets. Develops plans and actions to ensure goals are achieved or exceeded. Responsibilities WHAT YOU'LL DO Leads and works with the Human Resources Manager and Continuous Improvement Manager in developing and executing Plant Continuous Improvement policy, strategy and targets. Assists in developing and executing the strategic plan for the training and development of the associates to include: operator learning guides, new hire orientation, CI processes, etc. Periodically audits operational procedures and programs related to all aspects of the facility as training is developed and updated. Communicates with management /employees and provides relevant reports and analysis to ensure appropriate decision-making as it applies to continuous improvement and training. Facilitates teams in identifying opportunities, developing and implementing corrective action including follow-up to improve the productivity, cost, quality, delivery, safety and morale at the facility. Develps and delivers training and documentation. Facilitates the training and development of employees in the current methods of such things as: machines/equipment, manufacturing or process systems and quality goals/standards. Oversees the creation and maintenance of the OPLs and Trainings and follows through to completion. Facilitates Continuouus Improvement activities to include GPS. Manages the Informance and other data on a regular basis (e.g. Loss Tree, etc.) including collection, interpretation and communication. Works overtime and a variable schedule as necessary to meet Plant objectives. Completes all other assigned duties. LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY PERFORMANCE CATEGORIES * Productivity/quality standards: accuracy, timeliness, thoroughness * Effectiveness of delivering training programs and procedures * Regulatory compliance and training (GMP, HACCP, OSHA) * Teamwork within the department and across departments * Project/assignment standards * Customer satisfaction Qualifications WHAT YOU'LL NEED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to: Education/Certification: * Bachelor's degree in business administration, food science or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred. Experience: * 7 or more years of relevant work experience in manufacturing, safety, training and/or CI. * Previous training & facilitation experience. * Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Informance, etc.) * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to effectively communicate at all levels and present materials in a clear, concise manner. * Self motivated to work extended periods with limited direct supervision * Ability to make data driven decisions. * Continuous Improvement mindset with hands on leadership skills and experience working in a team-based environment. * Ability to lead in a facilitative manner, while holding others accountable. * Ability to coach individuals/teams and delegate appropri Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert): * Project management concepts and techniques (J) * Safety policies, practices and procedures (E) * Regulatory policies and procedures (J) * Budgetary concepts and procedures (J) * PC word processing/spreadsheet/presentation/database software (J) * Continuous Improvement concepts and processes (E) Skill and ability to: * Strategically influence all levels regarding CI, T&D and Sustainability * Serve as a team member, facilitator and/or leader as the team role warrants * Manage and motivate employees in a team-based environment * Prepare a variety of comprehensive administrative and technical documents and reports * Prepare and deliver presentations to management, customers, regulatory agencies and other representatives of external organizations * Assist in developing capital improvement cost/benefit analyses and subsequent forms * Possess operational skills of the work group and uses them to support continuous improvement efforts. * Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service * Act in accordance with GSF's Creed and Values WHAT YOU'LL GET * People First: At Golden State Foods, we're not just a company; we're a dynamic community where your talents are celebrated, and your ambitions are nurtured. * Values Driven: Our core values drive everything we do, creating a culture of innovation, integrity, and excellence.
