This position is located in the Chief of Staff Office, Training Unit at the SCDMV Headquarters, Blythewood, SC. Responsibilities of the Agency Training Manager * Manage, coach and support a team of training instructors and designers. Works closely with the L&D Manager and Training Specialist Supervisor to ensure employees identified as needing additional support are documented and scheduled. Oversee the creation and implementation of Wednesday Morning Trainings and other training materials to support agency wide initiatives. * Maintain and manage training schedules, materials and resources. Develop/maintain metrics to track training success and report on learning outcomes with agency LMS. Evaluates training design and effectiveness and adapt methods to improve outcomes. * Evaluate the performance and instructional effectiveness of training instructors through observation, feedback, and performance metrics. Assist with instruction of NET classes when needed. * Stay updated on the latest instructional methods, technologies and best practices. * Other duties as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements Minimum Qualifications * A bachelor's degree and relevant training and development experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted with prior approval. Agency Requirements * Must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license. * Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing. Additional Requirements * Thorough and detailed knowledge of SC motor vehicle and driver licensing laws, regulations, and SCDMV polices/procedures. * Excellent customer service skills with internal and external customers. * Experience with instructional design, e-learning platforms, and LMS tools. * Knowledge of adult learning theories and continuous improvement principals. * Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision and use sound judgement when making decisions concerning training design, delivery, and scheduling. * Employee reports to the Learning and Development Manager. * The Agency Training Manager is located at Blythewood Headquarters and may involve limited working beyond a normal schedule to complete requirements. * This position may require statewide travel. Preferred Qualifications Agency Preferred * A bachelor's degree or one (1) year related instructional experience or a bachelor's degree and one (1) year DMV instructional experience.
