The Training and Placement Program Assistant supports health professions training at the Institute to help fulfill its mission to develop a health workforce to address the needs of underserved communities. In this role, they will support the Training and Placement Program Administrator, as well as the Program Directors and Faculty for the Institute’s Family Nurse Practitioner Residency and Addiction Medicine Fellowship Programs.
Their responsibilities will be divided among student and volunteer placements, the FNP residency, and the AM fellowship, with time being spent on each program varying throughout the year based on program needs. They may also participate in additional activities related to other training and educational programs and projects at the Institute, both supervised and independent. This position is ideal for an organized, detail oriented, and motivated self-starter.
Responsibilities for the Student and Volunteer Placement:
Interact with diverse students and other prospective trainees to assess their skills and goals and match them with appropriate training opportunities.
Coordinate selection and placement of volunteers, interns, and students across the organization.
Ensure proper completion of onboarding paperwork and assist with human resources clearance.
Collect appropriate student placement data using placements tracking tools.
Collaborate with the Institute administrative offices to coordinate affiliation agreements with academic institutions.
Maintain an up-to-date list of interns and volunteers, supervisors, and sites.
Update tracker and compile information for quarterly reporting.
Update and maintain appropriate information on the Institute's internships and student placements website.
Work with administrative staff across the Institute to coordinate learner training schedules.
Work to incorporate learners into Advocacy and Community Outreach activities.
Responsibilities for the Nurse Practitioner Residency Program and Addiction Medicine Fellowship:
Assist with the creation and distribution of program recruitment materials.
Collect and coordinate reviews of program applications.
Collaborate with staff from the Institute and education partners to organize an annual program orientation.
Maintain Residents schedules in various programs (Outlooks, Google docs, EPIC).
Organize meetings with program’s staff and Residents/Fellows.
Assist Program Directors in providing support and professional development opportunities for Residents and Fellows.
Assist with program evaluation.
Recruit and liaise with community preceptors who will supervise the Residents/Fellows.
Coordinate and keep minutes for meetings as requested
Participate in recruitment process and interviewing for yearly cohort.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BS, BA, etc.) or equivalent experience required
Experience in a health or education field preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to track and manage multiple schedules and project timelines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
