Summary

The Training and Development Manager will partner with all levels of management to implement training systems, standards, and tools across two manufacturing sites. This role is within a CNC manufacturing environment and is responsible for ensuring that training systems are actively managed and continuously improved. Key systems and processes to be implemented include operations training and on-the-job certification, trainer development, skill gap identification, training planning and management, site orientation, role-specific onboarding, and the management of courseware and training documentation. The role will also ensure auditable tracking, measurement, and evaluation through our Learning Management System (LMS)


Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing, manage and improve site training processes.
  • Responsible for partnering with local operations departments to build out and implement on-the-job training for critical roles
  • Responsible for partnering with Camcraft and outside subject matter experts to access or create learning content
  • Implement and administrate a Learning Management System –to build, track and assign local training,
  • Key partner to the safety and quality leader, ensuring that all required compliance trainings are tracked locally and refreshed as needed
  • Partner with local high schools and community colleges to build our talent pipeline.
  • Key system owner ensuring we can see skill gaps and forecast future skill needs prior to losing experienced people
  • Drive training efficiencies across roles saving us unnecessary risk and reducing the time allotted for training
  • Measure and report training effectiveness and return on training investments


Critical Skills/Capabilities:

  • Experience in CNC manufacturing is a must; a strong understanding of shop floor operations is essential to developing relevant and effective training programs.
  • Results-oriented individual who continually seeks opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to implement new processes and leverage emerging learning technologies to integrate training into the flow of work.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, essential for communicating effectively, achieving company KPIs, and leading teams or cross-functional initiatives.
  • Holds self and others accountable for actions, outcomes, and continuous improvement.
  • Applies strong problem-solving and analytical skills to make timely, data-informed decisions; understands when to act independently and when to seek input or drive consensus.


Technical Skills:

  • Training Experience to include plan design and facilitation
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems
  • Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Forms
  • Precision machining Industry knowledge Preferred
