FLEXIBLE AVAILABILITY (OPEN TO OVERTIME AND/OR DOUBLETIME). Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening requirement.
Established in 1999, Safety Network is a growing, family-owned Traffic Control company based out of the Central Valley.
First and foremost, we are looking for candidates who will fit right in with our amazing culture and core values of Service (Make it Happen!), Relationships (Treat people like family), and Character (Work like you own the place). These core values are the lifeline of our business and culture.
This is an entry-level position with in-house training to become one of our Traffic Control Technicians/Flaggers. You will be out on the roads, setting up traffic control for our construction customers so that they can safely perform their work while keeping drivers and pedestrians on the roads safe as well. Since your work will be outside, you will be exposed to the weather elements (meaning, in the winters it will be quite cold, and in the summers it will be very hot and humid).
Main Responsibilities:
• Transporting of goods, materials, and/or equipment for various customers in a safe and timely manner.
• Completing Temporary Traffic Control set-ups, take-downs, maintenance, and flagging to ensure safe work zones for our customers and road users.
Must have three (3) years driving experience and a clean driving record (we will run a check with our Insurance broker to make sure your record is clean).
Tasks and Duties:
Every morning, check with dispatch to pick up your dispatch sheet, plans, your route, and gather materials to meet your job schedule (including loading up your truck with the materials needed).
Perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed and follow safety rules and regulations on all work zones and flagging sites, including: placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices, and safely controlling vehicular, pedestrian and construction traffic movements in a work area. Your duties will vary according to job assignment.
• Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure the job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
• Provide directions and safety instructions (you must be able to communicate effectively; verbal communication skills are critical). Familiarity with non-verbal communication methods such as hand signals, signs, and proper radio communication are equally important.
Constantly observe and be aware of the environment around you. Be cognizant of potential hazards and minimize risks.
Able to work with little to no direction from your immediate supervisor.
Load and unload trucks, and haul and lift materials.
Properly perform preventative maintenance checklist by inspecting truck and trailer for any mechanical and safety issues; this includes checking all fluid levels, tire treads and pressure.
Keep truck clean and in good operating condition; this includes removing trash and cleaning the interior at the end of each day.
Accurately document all time worked, miles driven, and meal breaks at the end of each day. Ensure to retain and turn in all fuel receipts.
Ensure daily and weekly pre and/or post checklists are completed properly and on time.
• Follow and comply with all state and federal traffic laws and regulations.
All Safety Network drivers must possess a current CA Driver's License while maintaining a clean driving record.
If you believe you are a good fit for our "Make it Happen!" beliefs and our core values, please apply! We love to see high-quality Resumes that give us an idea of who you are and what you're looking for!
