JobID: 1535 Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/Grounds Worker Date Posted: 10/30/2024 Location: Exeter High School Date Available: 11/04/2024 TRAFFIC CONTROL - FLAGGER at EXETER HIGH SCHOOL POSITION SUMMARY The School Flagger at Exeter High School is responsible for controlling and directing vehicle traffic after school at the entrance of Blue Hawk Drive on Route 27 to ensure a continuous flow of traffic. The hours for this position is 2:15-3:15 when school is in session. The hourly rate is $50.00. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Coordinates traffic by stopping, slowing, and directing vehicles during peak school dismissal times, by using flags, signs and hand signals. Setting up and removing traffic cones, barriers, and signage, when needed. Prioritize school busses exiting the school site in a timely manner. Ensure safety clothing is worn at all times. Report any safety concerns or incidents to school administration or law enforcement. Participate in training when requested by supervisor. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Physical: Being able to stand for long periods of time and work in various weather conditions Communication: Being able to communicate clearly, firmly, and courteously Interpersonal skills: Being able to interact calmly and positively with the public, including irritated drivers Self-reliance: Being able to direct traffic for long periods of time with minimal or no supervision ADDITIONAL DUTIES Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal or designee.
