POSITION SUMMARY:
National Accounts is part of the Commercial organization, a cross-functional organization integral to maximizing refining output value for MPC while meeting marketing demands. The Aviation group within National Accounts is responsible for the coast-to-coast sales and related inventory position management of MPC's jet fuel position, which includes executing supply contracts, facilitating on and off airport logistics and building partnerships within the aviation space. This position will regularly interact with internal and external business partners to sell aviation fuels as dictated by refinery economics, market conditions and logistics to maximize economic margin consistent with safe supply chain operations and other MPC core values.
This trading position should be viewed as a growth opportunity for a highly motivated individual that has a strong aptitude and a keen interest for a commercial career. This role will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain an understanding of the aviation market while performing a complex and critical function.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Negotiates and arranges the sale of aviation fuels as dictated by refinery economics, market conditions and logistical requirements
+ Initiates, develops and recommends new and existing sales strategies to achieve optimal value-add from aviation sales and logistics
+ Monitors customer nominations and contract compliance
+ Manages weekly refining update meetings within the region and provide applicable jet fuel updates
+ Interacts with Traders, Schedulers, Analysts and other personnel in Commercial, Refining, Product Quality, Business Development, Legal, Finance & Treasury and elsewhere. These interactions will be required to stay abreast of trading, logistical and financial activity, meet regulatory requirements, prepare contracts and address information inquiries.
+ Participates on any number of interdisciplinary teams to explore and develop improved aviation processes, tools and activities.
+ Provides analytical support in the modeling and evaluation of existing business, new opportunities and strategy development
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, or other business-related function is required.
+ 2 - 5 years of commercial experience is preferred
+ This position will experience up to 10% of overnight travel.
