Journeyman Toolmaker Ability to read prints and run precision equipment, operate lathes, mills, surface grinders, and drill presses, etc. Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances, using standard measuring instruments. Repair worn or inoperable tools with high level of troubleshooting abilities. Makes decisions and judgments about proper course of action for tooling repairs and maintenance. Maintains a safe and productive work environment. Strong understanding and experience in mold theory and troubleshooting. Communicates with co-workers and lead to receive instructions and coordinates activities necessary to maintain production. Additional overtime and Saturday work may be required to meet department and business demands. Must be able to modify tool designs according to trial or production service data and to improve tool life or performance.
