Summary

The Tool and Die Engineer will be responsible for die engineering within the production engineering department and will participate in the planning and design stages of die production. This role will plan manufacturing methods within our production processes for efficiency and maintaining consistent quality, as well as construct efficient production lines. This role will coordinate and cooperate closely with electrical and mechanical/machine engineers to accomplish the production engineering department’s mission.

What You'll Do

  • Support die maintenance/repair and other machine and facility maintenance/repair.
  • Review die drawings and provide feedback to die manufactures.
  • Support managing supply chain and inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Create maintenance schedules for preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Investigate and follow up on root cause analysis for production loss/quality problems.
  • Kaizen existing dies and processes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports to understand the equipment.
  • Stay up to date on external markets and technological innovations; continuing to look for new ways to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain efficient line outfitting, which includes equipment improvements and replacements, along with rebuilding existing IT systems.
  • Conduct research on improvement costs and simulate the results of implementation at the business level.
  • Make optimal decisions considering large budgets at the company as well as impacts on customers and other parties as production processes change.
  • Improve the efficiency of our production processes by repeating highly accurate hypothesis and verification processes.

What You Need

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineers or related field
  • 3-6 years experience in manufacturing.
