Position Overview
TIC Marine & Heavy Civil is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Area Safety Manager to join our team in Savannah, GA. This key leadership role involves overseeing multiple construction projects across the Savannah and Florida regions, ensuring the highest standards of safety excellence. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of construction safety experience and a strong background in managing safety programs.

TIC - The Industrial Company is a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation. TIC Marine and Heavy Civil self-performs projects with company-owned equipment for public and private sectors. The markets we operate in include dock construction and repair, bridge construction, road construction, mechanical bridge rehabilitation and retrofitting, foundation pile, erosion control structures, drainage structures, shop fabrication, industrial maintenance and varied concrete work.

Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs tailored to marine and heavy civil construction projects.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
* Oversee safety compliance across multiple projects, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
* Lead and mentor project teams in safety practices, fostering a culture of safety excellence.
* Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees at all levels.
* Investigate incidents and accidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
* Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to integrate safety into all phases of project planning and execution.
* Stay updated with the latest safety regulations and industry best practices, ensuring continuous improvement of safety protocols.
Qualifications
* Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial, or equivalent degree/work experience.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management, preferably in marine and heavy civil sectors.
* Strong background in developing and managing safety programs.
* Proven ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
* Certifications such as OSHA, CSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
* Strong work ethic; good interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Must be able to act independently with little or no supervision and work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Ability to operate a standard personal computer as well as knowledge of and experience with standard office computer software.
* Ability to carry out duties in varying work environments, including wide-ranging weather conditions and terrain.
* Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements is preferred.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
