The Thermal Utility Systems Director will be responsible for overseeing our consulting and engineering design services for district energy clients across North America. In this role, you will be responsible for growing a well-established practice through identification of new clients and opportunities and developing talent to support the successful execution of these projects. Markets served will include aviation, healthcare, higher education, federal, mission critical, advanced manufacturing and more. Your project portfolio is expected to feature central utility plants, cogeneration, thermal distribution systems and thermal energy networks that produce and distribute reliable, sustainable and cost-effective energy to large facilities and campuses. Your primary responsibilities will include market strategy, business development, client interactions, proposal development and project execution. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to develop innovative and compelling thermal utility design solutions that provide exceptional market value. Experience in consulting, design, design management and project management will be highly regarded, as will operational leadership experience. Office based, remote or hybrid positions are available.

Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar field.
- At least 10 years of project management, design, consulting, construction, commissioning and/or operations experience with thermal utility systems.
- Experience in overseeing execution of thermal utility projects through various phases of development from planning to commercial operation
- Proven ability to engage and develop strong working relationships with clients, vendors, contractors and other project stakeholders
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
Other Highly Regarded Qualifications Include
- Prior experience in operational leadership roles
- Prior experience in recruiting, developing and growing operational delivery teams
- Prior experience in business finances
- Understanding of multiple delivery and construction contracting methods
- Personnel management experience
- Broad network of industry contacts and relationships
- Professional engineering license(s)

The base salary range for this position is $140,800.00 to $190,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
