The Low Voltage Test Automation team seeks a highly motivated hands-on automation engineer to join the team. Our team's focus is on creating robust, data-centric production testing equipment for Tesla's vehicle electronics and silicon development. We develop automation using mechanical, eletricial, software, and controls of reliable and cost-efficient capital equipment for suppliers and Tesla factories around the world. * Design electronics for testers/fixtures automation in collaboration with other test engineers. This includes digital logics, power conversion, signal conditioning, and microcontrollers
* Create, read, interpret, and diagnose schematics, wiring diagrams, and circuits
* Support bring-up, validation, and development of new designs
* Investigate novel solutions to simplify testing automation
* Provide remote and occasional on-site support for product deployment and updates
* Manage multiple projects in parallel
* Experience and/or a keen interest in hands-on embedded engineering work in electronics or silicon testing environments
* Experience working with and debugging common protocols, like JTAG, SWD, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN, I2C, Ethernet, etc.
* Experience with digital and analog circuits design
* Knowledge of Linux & shell scripting and automation
* Python coding experience with an emphasis on organization, structure and reusability preferred
* Silicon manufacturing experience preferred
* Experience with RTOS programming using ARM cortex microcontroller (C/C++) preferred
* Exposure to data analytics and database querying with MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or SQLite
