Today, we are looking for a Test Engineer for our team ‘Turbomachinery and Propulsion’, part of our Project Office Service.

Your responsibilities:

Support the design and operation of various experimental facilities. During our daily work, we design new facilities from conceptual design, through the actual realization, automation of the measurement chain, and execution of experiments.

You will:

  • Oversee, design, and realize the main technical aspects related to turbomachinery and aerodynamics high-speed research facilities and laboratory operations.
  • Prepare and conduct measurement campaigns in a wide range of projects with the aerospace and power-generation industry (non-exhaustive list).
  • Prepare and integrate experimental equipment with researchers and students.
  • Ensure the quality and functionality of our test facilities and associated instrumentation by coordinating their maintenance, calibration, and constant upgrades.
  • Coordinate the different aspects of an experimental research project with the in-house services (design office, workshop, procurement, …) and external suppliers.

You will report to the team leader of ‘Turbomachinery and Propulsion’ and will be involved in several research groups.

Job requirements

You are an enthusiastic person with a passion for mechanical and/or electrical systems and automation.

  • Industrial Engineer (MSc) – mechanics / electromechanics / mechatronics.
  • Previous experience is a plus but not generally required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design and CAD tools
  • Knowledge of other system-control and acquisition tools such as Labview.
  • Out-of-the-box thinking and problem-solving abilities are a strong asset.
  • Fluent in French/Dutch and a working knowledge of English.
  • Technical writing (user guides, contributions to scientific publications).
  • Ability to cooperate with other engineers and focus on team goals.
