Position is based at Submarine Base - Bangor, WA. Mission System Support Team has an opening for a highly motivated Test Engineer in support of the USS Jimmy Carter SSN23, Multi Mission Systems (MMS). Assignments and responsibilities include: Person-In-Charge of software and hardware testing; performance of preventive and corrective maintenance on training systems; lead pre-job briefings, Clear and Safe, and Job Hazard Analysis briefings; actively participate in the planning & execution of work; support documentation of work & certifications; requisitioning & parts tracking; maintain water chemistry in a maintenance pool. The successful candidate must be willing to learn and understand the Navy's supply system, EB Oracle parts system, EB One Touch System, EB record keeping, Navy's tag out process, JFFM requirements, Quality Assurance, configuration management, and adapt to evolving information technology. Candidate must also be willing to go on brief business trips and occasional extended work assignments. Work requires lifting, pulling, extensive walking, confined space entry, and ladder climbing. Must have active DoD TS-SCI clearance. Qualifications Required: * Must have active DoD TS-SCI clearance. * A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Sciences with 5+ years of relevant experience OR a minimum of 10 years of experience in military, shipbuilding, ship repair, or manufacturing industry. * Experience working with material requisitioning processes, material control processes, material control standards, and material configuration management. Preferred: * Experience as Engineering/Ships Duty Officer or Engineering/Ships Duty Chief is highly valuable. * Experience in work control execution methods, work planning requirements, availability certification processes used by the USN is a plus. Skills * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Strong organizational and planning skills under minimal supervision. * Provide daily oversight and direction to subcontractors. * Inspect work sites for conformance to Safety and Quality Standards. * Read electrical and mechanical schematic drawings. * Use common test equipment to test copper cables, fiber optics, electrical and electronic components. * Familiarity with both electrical and mechanical workmanship standards is a plus. * Must be able to effectively work with multiple technical organizations, program offices, USN and government personnel.
