Job Description

Position Overview: As a Lead Automation Tester, you will have full ownership of the automation framework architecture, implementation roadmap, and technical leadership. You will define and execute the automation vision, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders across hardware, software, and validation domains. Your expertise will be instrumental in building a scalable, future-proof automation infrastructure aligned with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement automation frameworks using Python for HIL environments.
  • Lead the transition from manual to automated testing across HIL rigs.
  • Define and execute the automation vision and strategy.
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines, test management systems, and version control tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Robot Framework, PyTest).
  • Analyze system limitations to determine automation feasibility and focus on high-impact areas.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices in test automation and software quality.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to bridge technical details and requirements.
  • Present automation strategies and progress to senior management and technical forums.


Qualifications:


  • Proven track record (7+ years) in test automation development using Python, including building automation frameworks from the ground up.
  • Extensive experience working in HIL environments, with a strong understanding of real-time systems, control systems, and embedded hardware/software interactions.
  • Solid grasp of communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and diagnostics stacks.
  • Expertise in integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines, test management systems, and version control tools.
  • Experience in analyzing system limitations to determine automation feasibility.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional efforts and drive alignment between test, hardware, and software teams.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and guiding teams, conducting code reviews, and enforcing best practices.
  • Strong ownership of the end-to-end automation lifecycle—from requirement analysis and planning to implementation, reporting, and optimization.
  • Effective communication skills to influence and align multiple stakeholders across engineering, test, and quality assurance.
  • Comfortable presenting automation strategies and progress to senior management and technical forums.


Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in automation testing and HIL environments, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or architectural role.
  • Automotive or embedded system testing background is highly preferred.
