Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop test strategies, plans, and procedures for PCBA testing to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
  • Set up, program, and operate Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for in-circuit testing (ICT) and functional testing (FCT) of PCBAs.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve failures or malfunctions in PCBAs, and suggest design improvements for manufacturability and reliability.
  • Perform functional and performance testing of electronic circuits and components to ensure they meet design requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Design, build, and maintain test fixtures and jigs for both functional and in-circuit testing to improve test efficiency and repeatability.
  • Create detailed test plans, test scripts, and test reports, documenting all testing activities, defects, and findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and design teams to continuously improve testing processes, identify root causes of failures, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement automated test procedures using LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar software for automated testing solutions.
  • Ensure all PCBAs comply with industry standards such as IPC-610, ISO 9001, and any specific client or regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze test data, generate test reports, and provide feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams regarding product performance and quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop test strategies for new product designs, ensuring efficient production testing for new PCBAs.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in PCBA testing within an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with in-circuit testing (ICT), functional testing (FCT), and automated test systems.
  • Proficient in operating and programming Automated Test Equipment (ATE) like Keysight, Teradyne, or GenRad.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB layout, schematic analysis, and electronic circuit theory.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other electronic test and measurement equipment.
  • Proficient in debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of PCBAs.
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar test automation software.
  • Experience with SMT (Surface-Mount Technology) and THT (Through-Hole Technology) inspection and testing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of IPC-610 standards for electronic assemblies.
