Summary

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As an Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Development Engineer you will be responsible for the design, development, deployment and support of automated testing systems based on hardware and software. You will partner with Engineering, RnD, Operation and Production teams to play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our products by creating robust and efficient test solutions for manufacturing environments.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Develop, debug, and optimize test programs and sequences to ensure comprehensive and efficient testing of electronic systems.
  • Develop electronic cards and integrate measurement equipment.
  • Integrate hardware and software components to create fully functional and reliable ATE systems.
  • Implement test strategies to identify and isolate defects in electronic circuits and system functionality.
  • Continuously improve test processes and methodologies to enhance test coverage, reduce test time, and improve test quality by collaborating with manufacturing engineers and production personnel.
  • Provide ongoing support to production teams for ATE operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering
  • Over 5 years of experience in software development for automated test applications in languages such as C/C#/C++ and Python.
  • Strong understanding of electronics principles, circuit analysis, and digital/analog circuit testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with various test instruments (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in both hardware and software domains.
  • Fluent English, written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with various ATE platforms and instruments such as NI CVI, LabVIEW/TestStand.
  • Experience in hardware/board design with Cadence OrCAD
  • Knowledge in communication protocols such as EtherCAT, CAN/DeviceNet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, I2C, UART, USB.
  • Basic knowledge in MSSQL and GitHub
  • Experience with data acquisition systems and techniques.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and improve.
  • Ability to work with contractors and suppliers.
