We are looking for Test Automation Engineer with Playwright and Typescript experience for Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand location.
Agile & Scrum Experience
- Ability to work within an Agile team and coach others on Scrum principles.
- Experience in writing and breaking down outcomes into deliverables (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria).
- Comfortable with backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Strong Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking
- Ability to analyse complex technical and process challenges and find practical, scalable solutions.
- Strong critical thinking skills to identify inefficiencies and improve workflows.
- Comfort in dealing with ambiguity and troubleshooting technical issues across different tools.
- Ability to debug failures in automation pipelines, test cases, or configuration changes.
Test Automation & Quality Engineering
- Strong experience with Playwright and Typescript for automation testing.
- Experience setting up test automation frameworks and guiding others on writing great automated test cases.
- Knowledge of Zephyr (or other test management tools) to ensure proper test case organisation and execution.
- Experience in breaking down user stories and business requirements into well-defined test cases.
- Ability to ensure comprehensive test coverage, including edge cases, negative scenarios, and exploratory testing.
- Understands and applies the testing pyramid to decompose test cases and use appropriate testing methods (unit, integration, UI, end-to-end) for effectiveness and maintainability.
DevOps & CI/CD
- CloudBees Jenkins experience for setting up test execution pipelines.
- Ability to build CI/CD workflows for automated deployments and test execution.
- Strong Git skills: branching strategies, pull requests, and reviewing code/test automation contributions.
Application Configuration & Infrastructure as Code
- Understanding of configuration management for the application (how to version, test, and deploy changes).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to reduce manual config changes.
- Ability to integrate application configurations into pipelines.
Observability & Monitoring
- Hands-on experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, and PagerDuty for monitoring application health, test execution, and performance.
- Ability to set up dashboards, alerts, and incident workflows in Splunk, Dynatrace, and PagerDuty.
- Understanding of log aggregation, distributed tracing, and metrics collection for debugging failures.
- Experience with custom observability solutions, including:
- Event-driven observability.
- Streaming data processing.
- Pushing custom application and test execution metrics to Dynatrace Metrics.
