This revolutionary service enables mobile network operators (MNOs) to offer global connectivity—allowing users to send and receive text messages on unmodified mobile phones directly from satellites. With regulatory approvals in 30+ countries and commercial contracts across ~50 nations, this company is redefining mobile connectivity on a planetary scale.
Principal Responsibilities
💼 Design and build an automation test framework from scratch for satellite-based cellular tower systems
💼 Lead testing of the full telecommunications stack — from lab to field deployments
💼 Design and implement end-to-end test plans, test procedures, and automated scripts
💼 Perform both manual and automated testing (Python, ROBOT, etc.)
💼 Validate new features, track regressions, and own system performance testing
💼 Collaborate with developers and product managers to align on system requirements and provide testing feedback
💼 Use tools like Wireshark, QXDM, iPerf, and others to diagnose network issues
💼 Generate clear documentation, test reports, and bug logs
💼 Stay current with LTE, 5G, IoT trends and telecom standards.
Requirements
💪 4+ years of experience testing GSM, LTE, 2G, 4G cellular communication systems
💪 Strong understanding of GSM/LTE architecture, protocols, and standards
💪 Proven experience building test automation frameworks (Python preferred)
💪 Experience developing automated test cases for telecom products
💪 Proficient in Linux, Python, and Bash
💪 Hands-on with tools like QXDM, Wireshark, Spirent, IXIA, etc.
💪 Understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP, networking fundamentals
💪 Object-Oriented Programming knowledge in Python, C, C++, or Java
💪 Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible)
💪 Strong analytical, debugging, and documentation skills.
Bonus Points
🚀 Experience with software-defined radios (SDRs)
🚀 Exposure to wireless communication testing hardware
🚀 Interest in reverse engineering or low-level protocol analysis
🚀 Comfortable running manual tests for new features while building automation in parallel
