Test Analyst - Outside IR35 Contract - MUST HAVE BPSS

An experienced Test Analysts to support a high-profile obsolescence programme currently being mobilised by our client. This is a critical initiative involving the phased replacement and upgrading of Legacy systems across a diverse application estate.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the client's programme team to understand the scope and impact of systems being decommissioned or replaced.
• Design and execute comprehensive test strategies and plans tailored to the obsolescence and transition workstreams.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing across a broad range of technologies and platforms.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to identify dependencies, validate interfaces, and ensure data integrity.
• Log, track, and manage defects through to resolution using established test management tools.
• Provide input into go/no-go decisions based on testing outcomes and risk assessments.
• Support knowledge transfer and documentation to aid ongoing support post-transition.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong, demonstrable experience as a Test Analyst across complex, multi-system environments.
• Ability to quickly understand Legacy applications and the risks associated with decommissioning or replacing them.
• Familiarity with structured testing approaches and tools (eg, JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM).
• Experience in both manual testing and supporting automation where feasible.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills and the ability to operate in fast-moving programme environments.
• Exposure to transformation, system upgrade, or obsolescence-driven projects.

Desirable Skills

• Background in infrastructure or platform migrations.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium or Cypress.
• Working knowledge of SQL and data validation techniques.
• Understanding of integration testing between Legacy and modern systems.
• Prior experience in defence, manufacturing, or similar regulated industries.
• Active BPSS Clearance
