About The Team
TOC team support operational health (performance, availability, interoperability, reliability) of Lowe's Technology Systems. From the technology side we support Database (SQL, Orcale, DB2 & Sybase), Platfrom (Windows, Unix, Linux, & AIX) and also the Store hardware.
Job Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to support operational health (performance, availability, interoperability, reliability) of Lowe's Technology Systems. This includes providing first and second-level support for enterprise systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
- The individual in this role supports with infrastructure planning, engineering, and architecture, and works with Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. This role delivers work independently and is seen as a subject matter expert in the a given function.
- The individual in this role works the hours and schedule required to support the enterprise and may be on call and/or work alternate schedules to meet the needs of the department.
- Managing shift schedules to ensure adequate coverage. Providing appropriate training and support to employees. Addressing customer issues and ensuring customer satisfaction. Upholding safety standards and adhering to company policies.
Years Of Experience
- 3 years of experience in an IT support environment with technical experience in distributed technologies and systems development
- 2 years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports
- 1 years of infrastructure engineering experience working across multiple domains, platforms, or specialty areas
- 2 years of experience inUnix/Linux/Windows server administration
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)
Skill Set Required
Primary Skills (must have)
- Experience with systems (both infrastructure and applications) management, diagnostics, and support
- Familiarity with networking, server, Windows, Linux, Unix, AIX, Database and storage technologies
- 2 years of experience leading technical or project teams with or without direct reports in a large matrixed, retail organization
- 2 years of experience working in a large matrixed organization, in the Retail industry
- 2 years of experience working with third party IT vendors and/or systems solution providers
- 3 years of experience writing technical documentation in an infrastructure development environment
- Knowledge of three or more of the following: Unix/Linux/Windows server administration experience (RedHat); Configuration management and automation tools; Database administration experience (RDBMS, NoSQL); Messaging technologies (MQ. Kafka); Web Servers Experience (Apache, Nginx); Application containers (Jboss); Core Services - NTP, proxy, mail, DNS; IT security; Public/Private Cloud technology; Scripting languages; Object-oriented languages; Big Data technologies (Splunk) Systems Administration
- Experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework (systems administration related qualification)
- Experience providing first or second level support for enterprise IT systems in a corporate setting, including diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents (systems administration related qualification)
- Experience working with defect or incident tracking software (systems administration related qualification)
- Experience in working with vendors and troubleshooting the issues.
- Experience in working VXRails, PDU etc.
