Click here to learn about employee perks and benefits Click here to see the Total Compensation Calculator This position is located at: 11 West Jones Street Raleigh, North Carolina 27601 Primary Purpose of Position: The Technology Integration Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing the applications, databases and IT systems, needs, capabilities, and solutions for the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. This position acts as application administrator and configures, supports, and tests various solutions, develops and supports digital storage solutions, and other related software in collaboration with the museum's leadership and throughout museum sections. Works to integrate solutions as necessary with the Collections Database Manager as needed.  This role provides back-end support for museum technical applications, data storage and sharing, support of stakeholders and end users, creates solutions for technical problems, supports museum technical projects, provides website support, and services analytical needs. Additionally, this role is responsible for analyzing and advising on IT solutions, cybersecurity, and sharing of data with internal and external partners. These functions serve to assist the museum in meeting its mission through enhancing the functionality of staff and working to consolidate museum technical operations. This position has no direct reports but will oversee the work of related staff, volunteers, and interns across several work units. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Provide professional and responsive support to all product end users including museum staff and external partners and collaborators * Lead product troubleshooting as the museum liaison with external system vendors such as software companies and aggregators, escalating issues appropriately according to need * Propose and implement tools to improve data integrity, standardization, and normalization as needed * Configure, test, administer, and maintain current software and applications * Utilize programming skills to integrate data across multiple databases and platforms. * Assists in identifying, writing, implementing, and administering paperwork for applications and other software solutions Position/Physical Requirements: * Must be available to work Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. * Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently with or without reasonable accommodation.  https://naturalsciences.org/ To receive credit for your work history and credentials, you must provide the information on the application form. Qualified candidates must have or be able to: * Demonstrated experience collaborating with stakeholders, internal and external, to integrate technology solutions. * Demonstrated experience delivering technology solutions to various users with broad differences in abilities. * Demonstrated experience researching, proposing, and/or implementing software or applications for business purposes. * Knowledge of modern programming languages like PHP and the Laravel Framework, JavaScript and/or Python. * Knowledge of integrating multiple databases and migrating data between them. Management Prefers: * Demonstrated experience working with Smartsheets. * Demonstrated experience with website management. * Demonstrated skill in the use of Application Programming Interface (API) software. * Knowledge of NCDIT policies impacting technology use. * Knowledge of computer technologies commonly used in education and museums. Section/Unit Description: The Operations and Business Administration Section steers the museum's fiscal future and drives its operating capabilities. As part of the NCMNS overall mission, the Operations and Business Administration Section has several key directives.  1) Provide clean, safe, comfortable, and inviting indoor and outdoor spaces, 2) Control the museum's costs through budget and expense review, and 3) Secure funds to support museum operations and mission. The Operations and Business Administration Section coordinates operations across the institution and ensures that resources are appropriately allocated to meet museum objectives. The section champion's the Museum's mission and advances operational plans. It provides cross-sectional collaboration to support the network across the State and contribute to total quality management. Division Description: The State's museum devoted to science and nature, North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in central Raleigh is the largest institution of its kind in the Southeastern United States and, with over a million visitors a year, the state's most visited museum.
