O’Melveny is seeking a
Technology and AI Security Analyst in one of our
California offices. This analyst will perform platform security reviews, configuration management, integration development of API’s between standard platforms and the Firm’s applications, and ongoing compliance with the Firm’s information security program. Additional responsibilities will include providing the Knowledge Management team with platform engineering support as well as suggesting and incorporating technology and AI tools and enhancements into the information security program. The analyst will work with the Information Security and Knowledge Management teams on emerging vulnerabilities and risks to firm systems and will take a proactive approach in continually assessing the security of technology and AI systems throughout their lifecycle, providing recommendations for enhancing security and adapting to new threats and vulnerabilities. The analyst will develop reports to aid KM and IT management with understanding vulnerabilities, threats, and compliance concerns. The scope of this position is firm wide.
The salary range in CA for this role is $90,000-$110,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of AI governance policies and procedures to ensure secure and responsible use of technologies, including AI
- Assist Information Security Officer with the development of an AI security policy.
- Assist with initial platform security reviews, including AI platforms
- Application development, using standard AI platforms such as Microsoft CoPilot and OpenAI to build user-facing applications.
- Integration of AI APIs from standard platforms into the Firm’s applications.
- Develop routine AI platform configuration reviews to maintain compliance with the information security program.
- Conduct periodic risk assessments and vulnerability analysis of AI platforms and datasets to identify potential vulnerabilities or ethical concerns.Utilize existing tools or recommend an appropriate toolset.Implement controls and mitigation strategies to address identified risks and ensure the integrity of AI models.
- Perform periodic audits of privileged access in AI platforms, both cloud and on-prem, as applicable.
- Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams, including KM and IT, to promote a culture of responsible AI use, as well as assessing opportunities to enhance AI platform integration and security posture.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in AI governance, ethics, and security.
- Assist KM with engineering support, as needed.
- Assist Information Security with projects, as needed.
- Participate in various training programs for regarding security controls and platform development
- Stay abreast of current technologies, developments, security compliance requirements, standards, and industry trends
- Perform analysis of security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Utilize threat intelligence to anticipate and mitigate potential risks.
- Ensure secure handling of privileged accounts and credentials.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience in AI platform development, integrations, vulnerability/pen-testing.
- Understanding of AI technologies and ethical AI principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Candidate should be able to effectively interact with all levels of staff.
- Professional certifications are a plus related to information security (CISSP, CISM) or AI ethics (AI Ethics Certification).
