Technical Writer Location: Baltimore/Washington D.C. Category Engineering Division Intralox Apply now Intralox, LLC is seeking a Technical Writer for the Technical Communications Team. This HYBRID (in-office 2-3 days per week) role involves the creation and editing of documentation for Intralox's ARB Equipment products. Candidates are expected to be self-managed, communicate proactively with stakeholders, and pay close attention to detail. The successful candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced technical environment where processes and tools are continuously improving. This role will be based near Baltimore, Maryland. Responsibilities: * Create and edit structured content using topic-based authoring skills. * Work with project managers and other technical writers to deliver documentation on schedule. * Research technologies, interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and learn about electromechanical products to effectively communicate that information to customers. * Document equipment and systems in development and live environments. This includes working on the shop floor with other team members, climbing steps, standing on elevated platforms, and observing/photographing machines in construction and operation. * Conduct peer reviews and provide feedback to other technical writers to ensure high-quality documentation. * Collect and analyze technical documents (drawings, schematics, etc.) for re-use. * Take and edit photos, illustrations, and other graphics as needed for technical content. * Ensure consistency and adherence to documentation standards and guidelines across all materials. * Travel to locations and document machine maintenance, repair, and installations. Requirements: * B.S. or B.A. from an accredited university or equivalent work experience. * Minimum of 3 years' combined experience with technical writing, proofreading, and editing. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * A self-managed individual who thrives in fast changing environment, comfortable with ambiguity, easily builds win/win relationships with peers, and open to giving and receiving critical feedback. * Able to understand and describe electro-mechanical systems. * Able to wort at Intralox offices located in Hanover, Maryland a minimum of 2 days per week. * Able to fly to remote (US) locations for overnight travel (less than 10%), and to travel to local facilities, to document machinery installation and maintenance. Desired Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related field. * Experience with structured authoring or DITA XML. * Understanding of information architecture and content reuse principles. * Experience with Component Content Management Systems. * Experience with image processing software. * Experience in the material handling or warehouse industry. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Intralox considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training and key skills. Our total compensation package includes bonuses that can take team members far past their base salary. Therefore, we encourage all qualified applicants to apply regardless of their salary expectations. The base pay for this position is $55,000 to $98,200, before any possible bonuses.
