Job Summary: Creates and maintains a variety of product technical documentation and related materials by performing the following duties.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
Creates and updates product technical manuals for all product lines and products from initial concept to finished product. This involves researching, writing, editing, drawing, proofreading, QAing, and publishing..
Creates product specification sheets for all product lines and products. This entails researching and writing the pertinent details of the product and the technical specifications, keeping these spec sheets up to date and maintaining them on the website, released documentation folder, and training flash drives.
Creating technical illustrations and wiring diagrams for each product.
Works closely with each Project Engineer to maintain accuracy.
Working with the outside printer and ordering documentation on the on-line ordering system. This involves creating and sending them a PDF of the document and approving the print-ready proof that they create.
Creates sales brochures.
Creates price sheets. This involves pictures of the products and detailed product descriptions.
Creating and update software USB drives for customers.
Creates controller set point worksheets in Word and Excel and creates interactive PDFs and interactive worksheets.
Creates engineering change orders for all forms of documentation – manuals, worksheets, flash drives, and brochures.
QA’ing products while writing the documentation about them – operator interfaces, software, label content versus inputs/outputs on boards.
Taking photographs and photo shopping them for documentation.
Take direction on the above responsibilities and get appropriate approvals (when necessary) from the Senior Technical Writer.
Creating and printing attendees’ training certificates for our product controls training classes.
Calculating the price of documentation and verifying new releases for Accounting/Purchasing.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) preferred; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.
Structured Content Management, SAP, or TeamCenter Experience
Work Environment
Ability to lift up to 10lbs.
Required to sit 85% of work hours. Use hands, speak and hear.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.
Travel is rare. This is subject to change according to business needs.
