About the job We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to create documentation that supports using, administering, and deploying complex analytical software products. In this role, you will design documents and document collections for target audiences, as well as develop illustrations and examples in a range of complexities, from simple programming or configuration techniques through complex business applications and relevant use cases. As a Technical Writer, you will: * Write clear, accurate, and concise documentation, following SAS writing guidelines. Documentation scope includes development, management, or review of usage, deployment, and administration guides, online Help, embedded user assistance, UI messages, API documentation, and videos. * Document complex technical subjects in ways that are easy to understand, and which maximize usability by target personas. * Demonstrate domain/technical knowledge of assigned products/markets. * Work closely and effectively with product development teams (including software developers, marketing strategists, and technical support analysts) or professional services implementation teams (including project managers, solution architects, and technical consultants) to gather needed inputs, communicate status to all stakeholders and manager, and produce deliverables that meet targets for quality and timeliness. * Manage projects to meet targets for quality and timeliness. * Be capable of leading writing project teams. Required Qualifications * 5 years of professional experience as a technical writer documenting software or one year of writing experience and four years of professional experience in a field or technical or business domain related to position. * Bachelor's degree in a communications field or a technical or quantitative field. An advanced degree in a specific field may be required to support some products. * Excellent knowledge of technical writing principles, conventions, and document processes. * Sound knowledge in one or more business and technical domains such as analytics, statistics, advanced math, cloud deployments, enterprise software, banking and insurance, accounting, and internet of things. * Familiarity with Agile methodology and CI/CD development processes. * Knowledge or understanding of Markdown syntax and Git principles and use. * Excellent project management, research, planning, and time management skills. * A combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements above. * You're curious, passionate, authentic and accountable.
