Description

SAIC is seeking a Technical Writer and Editor with an active Top Secret clearance. This position is 100% onsite at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Job Responsibilities

• Write and edit technical documents including briefings, papers, general correspondence, and briefings for grammar, punctuation, formatting, and clarity
• Assess and integrate technical and visual information from multiple sources into well-structured and professionally articulated products
• Facilitate appropriate review and clearance through Public Affairs and the Office of Security Review
• Assess and evaluate technical content against mission objectives and strategic messaging guidance to deliver written and visual products for both internal and external audiences
• Facilitate collection and dissemination of materials for coordination and approval
• Format documents according to Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) standards
• Work with diverse groups to reach agreement on content
• Interview subject matter experts to obtain content
• Perform document configuration control and storage
• Collate, edit, format, and refine DDRE-level reports
  
  

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or related field and ten (10) years or more experience; Masters degree and eight (8) or more years of experience
• Experience writing in engineering or other highly technical domains
• Expert skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Familiarity with Congressional activities, proposals, and reports
• Experience and skill to interact with technical experts in systems engineering
• Familiarity with document coordination and work flow practices
  
  

Required Clearance

• Active Top Secret clearance required to start; Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI required to maintain employment
• US citizenship
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• Previous experience within the DoD is preferred
• Masters Degree and eight (8) years of experience
