As we expand our service portfolio and take on new projects—ranging from cloud migrations and VPN integrations to large-scale office relocations—we are seeking a Senior Technical Lead to oversee our technical operations, drive efficiency, and ensure exceptional service delivery.


Role Overview


The Senior Technical Lead will oversee the technical delivery of Radium Technologies' Managed IT & Cyber Security services, ensuring the smooth operation of IT projects, infrastructure support, and client service management. This leadership role will be responsible for optimising internal processes, managing technical teams, and working closely with stakeholders to maintain and enhance our high standards of service.

This is a hands-on role requiring both technical expertise and leadership capabilities to guide the team in delivering high-quality IT solutions.

All items marked mandatory are required. This role will report directly to the Managing Director.


Key Responsibilities


Technical Leadership & Strategy


  • Lead and oversee the day to day technical operations of the company, ensuring efficient delivery of managed IT services and project implementations.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve technical service delivery, security, and infrastructure resilience.
  • Identify and implement best practices in IT operations, ensuring high availability and performance of client systems.


Service Delivery & Client Management


  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex IT issues and major incidents.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs, providing strategic IT recommendations and ensuring service excellence.
  • Oversee SLAs and ensure service commitments are met, with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Manage and optimize the company’s approach to IT support, ensuring efficiency and client satisfaction.


Project Management & Execution


  • Oversee IT projects, including cloud migrations, VPN integrations, network upgrades, and office relocations.
  • Manage the successful execution of projects like Azure VM cost optimizations, BitTitan MigrationWiz email/data migrations, and datacenter-to-office VPN setups.
  • Ensure documentation, risk assessments, and project timelines are maintained to a high standard.


Infrastructure & Security


  • Maintain and improve internal and client infrastructure, including cloud environments (Azure, Microsoft 365), networking, and security.
  • Oversee firewall and VPN configurations, ensuring secure and optimized connectivity for clients.
  • Stay ahead of cybersecurity threats and best practices, implementing necessary security enhancements.


Team Management & Development


  • Mentor and support technical staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and career paths for engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and certifications to support business objectives.
  • Carry our performance monitoring, performance reviews and manage HR responsibility of your team.


Process & Operational Efficiency


  • Improve internal workflows and automation to enhance service efficiency.
  • Optimise cost structures in IT operations, including licensing, cloud services, and hardware procurement.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance, regulatory, and best practice frameworks.


Key Requirements


Certifications


  • ITIL Foundation (v4) – Mandatory for IT service management best practices.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) – Required for Azure infrastructure expertise.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert – Essential for Microsoft 365 services, security, and compliance.
  • CompTIA Security+ or CISSP – Demonstrates cybersecurity expertise.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – Validates networking skills, crucial for MSP environments.


Preferred Certifications


  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) – For designing and implementing cloud solutions.
  • SonicWall Network Security Administrator (SNSA) – For firewall management and VPN configurations.
  • PRINCE2 Foundation / PMP (Project Management Professional) – Beneficial for IT project management.
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) – Relevant if virtualization and Hyper-V environments are a key part of service offerings.
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) – Useful for penetration testing or advanced security planning.


Technical Skills & Experience (All Mandatory)


  • Minimum 10 years of experience working with MSPs in Ireland.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft 365 (administration, migration, and management)
  • Azure (VMs, networking, security, cost optimization)
  • Entra ID (formerly Azure AD)
  • Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, Hyper-V, etc.)
  • SonicWALL Firewalls (configuration, VPNs, troubleshooting)
  • Networking (LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, Wi-Fi, VoIP, SD-WAN)


Leadership & Management (All Mandatory)


  • Minimum 7 years of experience supervising technical support teams.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience in delivering IT infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting business priorities.


Soft Skills & Other Requirements (All Mandatory)


  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of organization and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Passion for lean operations, efficiency, and delivering high-quality service.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL, PMP) are required, with ITIL certification being mandatory.
