We are looking for a time served experienced Technical Service Manager based in Mumbai (India)


The role involves providing technical support for the Paints & Coatings, conducting seminars and presentations to promote products, coordinating internal information sharing, and resolving customer technical application issues. It includes supporting the sales team, offering technical guidance, and traveling to customer sites as needed. Responsibilities also include preparing paint samples for testing and engaging in global R&D projects. The position requires close collaboration with regulatory teams, addressing complex technical issues, ensuring safety compliance, and participating in various additional tasks as assigned to support business objectives.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide Technical Support: Serve as the primary technical support for the Paints & Coatings business across Indian sub-continent, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery for customers and business partners.
  • Conduct Seminars and Presentations: Organize and deliver seminars, workshops, and presentations aimed at promoting the company's entire product portfolio, educating customers on product benefits, and driving sales.
  • Coordinate Internal Information Sharing: Actively coordinate across various departments and teams to gather, consolidate, and share technical and product information, ensuring alignment and seamless communication.
  • Resolve Customer Technical Issues: Address and resolve customer technical application problems, offering expert guidance on formulation and helping them optimize the use of the company’s products.
  • Provide Technical Assistance: Respond to all customer inquiries related to technical issues, providing accurate and comprehensive answers to questions about products, processes, and applications.
  • Support Sales Goals: Collaborate closely with the sales team to support their objectives, offering technical expertise and customer insights to facilitate product sales and strengthen client relationships.
  • Customer Interaction & Lab Work: Most of the work involves direct customer interaction. Additionally, it includes laboratory work as per business needs, with regular travel to customer sites to provide on-site technical support.
  • Other Assigned Responsibilities: Be flexible in taking on additional tasks or responsibilities as required by the business, contributing to overall success.
  • Evaluate Paint Samples: Prepare paint samples for testing to assess compatibility, efficacy, and overall performance. Develop treated panels for weathering assessments to determine long-term stability and durability.
  • Basic technical support consumer care business


Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5 years' Experience in a similar R&D type role, preferably working with biocide/ pesticide containing formulations in paint and other technical applications
  • Education should be bachelor's in chemistry or Microbiologist
  • Detailed technical understanding of customer and product requirements, cost parameters, end-use applications, ancillary properties, relevant standards and regulatory implications.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of formulation techniques
  • Excellent communication, written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret results & make clear recommendations
  • Ability to implement technical aspects of projects independently on a day-to-day basis flowing predefined project goals.
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience; specifically excel, word and powerpoint.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Basic understanding of cosmetic/consumer care formulations
