Summary

Job Title: Technical Sale Representative

Reports to: Director of Sales

Department: Sales

FLSA: FT/Exempt

Travel requirements: 50%

Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 (Compensation decisions are dependent on the specific details and circumstances of each hire such as experience, skills, and education.)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (Flexible)

Soarus, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical Group, is the sales, marketing, and R&D arm for acetyl resins in North and South America. Soarus’ main products are Soarnol (EVOH copolymer), Gohsenx (Specialty PVOH), and Nichigo G-Polymer.


MSI Technology, L.L.C.

MSI Technology specializes in the sales, marketing, and development of specialty polymers. We market Plexar tie-layer adhesives (manufactured by LyondellBasell), SPS peelable sealants, and SpeciPurge purging resins to global markets.


Together, Soarus L.L.C. and MSI Technology L.L.C., located in Arlington Heights, IL, provide a one-stop shop for specialty polymers.


Job Description

The focus of this position will be to work with current and potential customers to promote the products of Soarus and MSIT. Working in a team atmosphere, the Technical Sales Representative will strive to optimize both the volumes and value of our product portfolios.

Adheres to company safety, health, and security best practices, policies and procedures during the fulfillment of work objectives / responsibilities. Partner with management to direct safety initiatives to ensure organization maintains compliance with laws, regulations and company policies.

Responsible for ensuring ethical conduct and compliance with federal, state, local, and parent company regulatory requirements.


Essential Role Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with business leaders to learn sales processes by completing the Sales Trainee Training Program; required projects; and assigned tasks.
  • Utilizes best sales practices when calling on existing customers to maintain business relationships and cold-calling on new businesses to establish relationships and determine new sales opportunities.
  • Promotes the Soarus culture and positive business ethics through ongoing business relationships and activities.
  • Analyzes sales and market data; summarize and report on business and market trends.
  • Provides feedback regarding product issues and development opportunities to enhance the profitability of sales.
  • Updates sales and business job knowledge by participating in educational and self-development improvement opportunities; reading sales and marketing publications; maintaining professional connections and networks; participating or being a member of sales and marketing networks.
  • Participates in sales forecasting, and planning.
  • Develops and delivers sales presentations and closes sales.
  • Liaise with the customer service team and suppliers to check on progress of existing orders.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering or relevant related field


Preferred:

Zero (0) to three years (3) prior work experience in relevant work capacity in the plastics industry

Travel Requirement Notice: Initially, up to 50% travel is required for this position. Upon completion of training and promotion into a Sales position, the travel requirement will increase to 60%-80%.
