POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technical Resource Manager manages people and will have demonstrated success at directly leading teams of technical professionals. The Operations Team members reporting to this position who are responsible for technical design services need supervision, development & training, regular feedback, guidance, and work assignments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position provides direction, coordination of work activity, and accountability for timely, qualitative output. This role must effectively collaborate with Project Managers to allocate skills and availability of team members as needed to satisfy customer requirements.
- Selection, hiring, training and development of assigned direct report team members
- Performance assessment and evaluation including development of metrics and benchmarks to help determine productivity and quality
- Coaching and disciplinary action when needed
- Active collaboration with Project Managers to provide proper staffing levels and skills needed for customer work
- In conjunction with People & Administration, provide Compensation management for all team members
- Support all initiatives as determined by ONUG Leader Team and Operations Leadership
- Perform other duties as needed to further the company strategy
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Management of ten or more direct reports
- Participation in Operations Leader Team meetings
- Support People & Administration and Leader Team initiatives and strategies to develop, grow and maintain a healthy work culture
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a technical area or Business Management. AS or AA in Management. 5+ years of fiber engineering along with management experience beyond minimum requirement will be considering in lieu of 4-year degree.
- Technical experience in fiber optic design highly desirable and will be given first consideration
- Management certification highly desirable
- Proven track record of leading and developing a group of technical professionals
- Two plus (2+) years of recent and relevant Supervisory experience managing teams essential and required
- Proven ability at high energy multi-tasking
- Must possess working knowledge of human resources fundamentals.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, excellent computer skills, and superb attention to detail
