Summary

About the Role:

TalentCraft is seeking an experienced Technical Recruiter to join our growing team focused on mission-critical industries including semiconductors, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, and the energy sector. Based in Arlington, VA, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing and hiring top-tier technical talent that supports strategic national capabilities and cutting-edge innovation, given the urgency surrounding reshoring supply chains domestically.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with hiring managers and technical teams to define hiring needs and role requirements across high-impact domains.
  • Source, screen, and evaluate technical candidates, with a focus on engineers, technicians, operators, program managers, scientists and R&D specialists in fields such as: Semiconductor design and fabrication; Synthetic biology and bioengineering; Precision manufacturing and materials science; Clean energy technologies (e.g., nuclear, hydrogen, batteries)
  • Utilize a mix of sourcing strategies (LinkedIn, networking, Boolean search, conferences, etc.) to attract passive and active candidates.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines in sensitive, emerging technology sectors aligned with U.S. innovation and security priorities.
  • Guide candidates through the hiring process, ensuring a strong candidate experience from first contact to onboarding.
  • Collaborate with HR and compliance to ensure recruiting practices align with relevant regulations (e.g., export control, security clearance eligibility).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using ATS tools and proprietary systems.
  • Provide market intelligence and competitive analysis to inform hiring strategies.


Qualifications:

  • 3–7 years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally within or adjacent to government, defense, R&D, or deep-tech sectors.
  • Proven success recruiting for complex technical roles requiring advanced degrees, specialized clearances, or highly niche skillsets.
  • Deep familiarity with recruiting in at least one of the following sectors: semiconductors, biotech, energy, or advanced manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding and/or interest in technical concepts and terminology (e.g., IC design, mRNA, advanced manufacturing, photonics).
  • Excellent sourcing skills, with ability to engage hard-to-reach talent.
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to potential exposure to export-controlled or sensitive information.


Preferred:

  • Experience recruiting in environments involving national security, federally funded research, or high-tech commercialization.
  • Familiarity with security clearance processes or compliance frameworks (e.g., ITAR, CUI, DFARS).
  • Bachelor's degree.
