SUMMARY

The Technical Project Manager will oversee and manage IT projects across the product, systems, and operations teams, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.

This role will implement and manage Agile project methodologies, facilitate collaboration across teams, and ensure clear communication of project progress and outcomes.

The Technical Project Manager will work closely with the VP of Technology and other stakeholders to prioritize projects and ensure that resources are effectively allocated.

Additionally, the Technical Project Manager will collaborate with other project managers and business units across the organization to align priorities, share best practices, and ensure coordinated project delivery.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Management
  • Lead IT projects, including product development, system initiatives, and operational improvements.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Agile Methodology
  • Manage and implement Agile project management practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog management.
  • Serve as the Agile project manager (Scrum Master, Service Delivery Manager) to ensure teams remain focused and deliver on goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with the product, engineering, and IT operations teams to ensure smooth project execution and successful delivery.
  • Act as a liaison between departments to facilitate communication and collaboration.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, manage expectations, and communicate project status.
  • Ensure that business priorities are reflected in project goals and outcomes.
  • Organizational Project Management
  • Coordinate with other Project Managers within the organization to align on project goals, share resources, and implement best practices.
  • Ensure consistent project management standards and methodologies are followed across all teams.
  • Business Unit Collaboration
  • Work with various business units to understand their needs and ensure that IT projects support broader business goals.
  • Regularly communicate with business unit leaders to provide updates and gather feedback.
  • Risk and Issue Management
  • Proactively identify potential project risks and issues.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address obstacles and ensure the continued progress of projects.
  • Resource Allocation
  • Work with leadership to allocate appropriate resources to each project, ensuring that teams have the necessary tools and personnel to succeed.
  • Budget and Timeline Management
  • Ensure projects are delivered within budget and meet timeline expectations.
  • Track and report project progress, highlighting any risks to delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Regularly review project outcomes and processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned to improve future project execution.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager, focusing on IT, product, or engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, with experience serving as a Scrum Master, Service Delivery Manager, or leading Agile teams.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects from inception to completion.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience collaborating with business units and other project managers across an organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Agile project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Asana.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, Certified Scrum Master).
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and IT operations best practices.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience and/or Certifications can be used in place of a degree.
