Overview

We're looking for a highly skilled and organized Senior Project Manager to lead a critical initiative in the Android ecosystem. This long-term program is aimed at aligning delivery and coordination across Android to ensure that devices launching on Android 15 support framework upgrades up until 2029. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, risk management, and overall success of the project.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Project Manager for the Android Platform Longevity Program, you will be responsible for the following:

• Timeline & Milestone Management: Oversee project timelines, milestones, task dependencies, and the critical path to ensure that the longevity project and its workstreams stay on track.
• Progress Tracking & Communication: Actively monitor and communicate progress, risks, and mitigation strategies across the program.
• Documentation & Centralized Information: Consolidate project details such as stakeholders, objectives, schedules, risks, dependencies, and task durations into a central location for ease of access and reference.
• Collaboration: Work with engineering, product, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth coordination and successful project execution.

Required Skills & Experience

• Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated experience in managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Cross-Functional Team Experience: Ability to manage and collaborate with engineering teams in a matrixed or cross-functional environment.
• Android & Google Ecosystem Knowledge: Familiarity with the Android platform and its upgrade lifecycle, or a strong willingness to learn.
• Tools Proficiency: Experience with tools such as Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, Jira, and Buganizer or other project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams and workloads.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on clear documentation, writing, and stakeholder engagement.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to handle large-scale migrations and projects without missing key details.
