Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented and experienced Technical Project Manager to join our IT team. This role will involve overseeing the management and delivery of technical projects, as well as providing engineering support for infrastructure systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, validating, and setting up systems that ensure scalable, reliable, and efficient communication infrastructure. Experience in working with IP telephony systems is a plus. The role requires close collaboration with internal IT teams, business units, and third-party vendors, managing the installation, configuration, testing, and ongoing maintenance of systems.
Technical Responsibilities:
Planning and Design:
- Analyze project requirements and design scalable, cost-effective solutions.
- Assist in developing work breakdown structures and estimating the timelines for key project tasks.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate hardware, software, and network components for system integration.
Installation and Configuration:
- Configure and deploy IP-based infrastructure systems, such as PBX, VoIP gateways, SBC, and IP phones, ensuring that all components integrate seamlessly. Familiarity with contact center application systems is an advantage.
- Ensure compatibility and integration with existing network infrastructure, including configuring LAN/WAN/VPN/firewall settings.
- Implement network performance optimization techniques, like prioritizing voice traffic using Quality of Service (QoS).
Integration and Testing:
- Integrate infrastructure systems with other business communication platforms, including email systems and contact center software.
- Thoroughly test the systems to identify issues and ensure proper functionality.
- Test system compatibility across various network configurations and devices.
Support and Maintenance:
- Provide second-tier technical support and troubleshooting as needed.
- Maintain clear documentation, including system configurations, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
Project Management Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage technical infrastructure projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and meeting quality standards.
- Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and create risk management strategies.
- Direct project teams, including internal staff, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring successful project execution.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, providing status updates and progress reports.
- Identify potential project risks, resolve issues proactively, and manage changes to project scope.
- Oversee project budgets, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure project goals align with organizational needs.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, scope statements, and progress reports.
- Conduct project closure activities, ensuring proper documentation, evaluation, and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing IP network systems (e.g., Cisco, ALE, Asterisk).
- Practical experience with VoIP technologies (SIP, H.323) and implementing QoS measures.
- Experience with engineering and managing IP telephony systems, including PBX systems and VoIP gateways.
- Previous involvement in contact center systems is an added advantage.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs).
- Expertise in setting up and troubleshooting IP-based telephony systems (e.g., VoIP, PBX).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across different teams.
- Solid understanding of project management frameworks (Agile, Waterfall).
- Leadership abilities and the capacity to manage diverse project teams.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments while managing competing priorities.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira).
Certifications (Preferred):
- Alcatel Certified System Engineer.
- CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert).
- PMP (Project Management Professional).
