Company Description

The Spacelab Nonprofit is a people incubator for outer-space projects, currently focused on completing our end-to-end ML pipeline and interactive 3D application, discovering Exoplanets using NASA data. Our participants are professionals, not students. We are currently a 100% volunteer organization, and any funding is currently used to pay for cloud services such as the GPUs where our engineers are testing our models, and on our website itself.


There is no pay for this volunteer role, and we hope that your experience here and the network that you can build will help you in your career as you move forward.


Role Description

This is an unpaid, part-time, volunteer remote role for a Technical Program Director at The Spacelab Nonprofit. The Technical Program Director will oversee program management, project management, product development, IT strategy, and software development tasks on a day-to-day basis.


Qualifications

  • Program Management and Project Management skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Software Development experience is a plus but not required (college coursework is acceptable but not required)
  • Experience in the space or science industry is a plus but not required
  • You should be a bit of a space geek
  • You should believe in our mission and core values whole heartedly
