Now eBay is seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to join the newly established Developer ECO-system (DECO) team in Shanghai which manages the eBay public API portfolio that enables partners to create new magical experiences in our marketplace. eBay APIs offer eBay developers the power to create a wide variety of solutions to meet the diverse needs of the millions of buyers and sellers on eBay. The candidate will be responsible for developing product roadmaps, defining & driving innovative solutions that enhance eBay marketplace experience, engaging customers / partners to ensure the effective development of the developer ecosystem portfolio. The candidate will collaborate with a global team of engineers, product managers, architects, and analysts to elevate our commerce platform of global commerce through a best-in-class API portfolio and a world-class developer experience. He/She must have a strong execution focus in an agile environment and align with product strategy. Joining the newly established team, the candidate will have significant influence and opportunities for growth, with an expanded scope and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Get aligned with eBay’s overall API first strategy, develop and execute a strategic product roadmap, driving innovative solutions that enhance the eBay marketplace experience.
  • Drive execution of various solutions by collaborating with cross functional teams in product, engineering, business, support, etc.
  • Foster an atmosphere of focus on accountability, delivery, and positive customer experiences.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and gather feedback to continuously improve API management practices and product offerings.
  • Provide periodic and timely updates to management, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Create a brand for your team by socializing your team’s amazing accomplishments in various internal forums as well as externally via meetups, blogs and conference talks.


Required Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or Ph. D. in CS, EE or equivalent.
  • 7+ years’ working experience in software development with at least 3 years’ product management experiences.
  • Proven experience in technical product management, with a track record of delivering impactful solutions of platforms and API products to bring business value.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with global teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in an agile environment, with a focus on execution and strategic alignment.
  • Deep understanding of mainstream programming language (JAVA/Python/JS, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of REST and GraphQL API design principles.
  • Solid coding experience in Java or other mainstream programming languages.
  • Experience in messaging/streaming applications (Kafka) and popular DBs.
  • Familiar with API testing tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiar with highly scalable, resilient and performant distributed systems.
  • Proficient in data analysis methodologies and tools.
  • Fluent in both verbal and written English.
  • Working Experience in a multi-national company is a plus.
