As an independent partner, we blend deep domain knowledge with cutting-edge technology to address complex engineering challenges. 2H Offshore is currently looking for a motivated Technical Manager with strong analytical skills for the Oil & Gas sector.


As a Technical Manager with a specific focus on Risers and other SURF systems engineering, you will lead, manage and where required sponsor multi-disciplinary project teams across a wide variety of projects. The role will encompass engineering design and analysis at the conceptual, feasibility, FEED, and detailed design stages. The successful candidate will be a leader capable of building and nurturing a team as well as aligning with counterparts in other 2H regional offices to ensure best practices for project management.


The role will also include seeking and developing client and peer relationships, as well as providing the necessary support for growth initiatives in energy transition technologies for 2H and where appropriate, other operating companies in Acteon.

Main Responsibilities:


Project Management and Sponsorship:

  • High-level Sponsor support to Project Managers or Project Manager on large scopes
  • Responsibility for the safe and successful execution of 2H Europe projects during both proposal and execution phases.
  • Ensuring that the project is executed and deliverables approved in-line with 2H's QMS system.
  • Ensuring that the company and project commercial objectives are achieved.


Business Development:

  • Work with the Sales Team to find and secure opportunities.
  • Ensure all significant client interactions are logged into the company CRM.
  • Manage the preparation, delivery, and approval of PRPs/CTRs then follow them through to secure the work.
  • Manage and build client relationships - either directly or through your team.


Team Development:

  • Lead and supervise the local technical team
  • Distributing tasks
  • Balancing the workload
  • Developing the skills of the team
  • Ensuring a high level of commitment and team morale
  • Effectively manage fluctuations in resources requirements


Technology Development:

  • Participate and leverage connection in French professional bodies for O&G and Renewables.
  • Actively participate in 2H's strategic growth initiatives.


Administration:

  • Apply the Company's policies and ensure full commitment with Compliance, QMS and HSE processes.
  • Support company culture.
  • As required, support the administrative management of the regional Paris office.


These duties will evolve and may therefore change as the Company grows and adapts to market changes and where requested by the directors.


Whilst this role is principally office-based, regular travel to sites and partner offices within the EU and occasionally globally will be required.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Engineering degree (preferably in solid or fluid mechanics), proficiency in riser design software (OrcaFlex, Flexcom, Deeplines, SHEAR7), and basic programming knowledge in Python.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in oil and gas engineering.
  • Experience in managing technical projects and leading a technical team.
  • Have a strong understanding of solid mechanics, hydrodynamics, wave modelling, and naval architecture (RAOs).
  • Be highly organised and able to work proactively on own initiative.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
  • Excellent communicator, in both written and verbal forms, with highly effective inter-personal skills supported by good attention to detail.
  • Desire and ambition to achieve both technical and personal excellence by committing to personal and professional development.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication in French and English.
