Summary

Job Description:


Technical

  • Provide direction and technical expertise in design, development, and systems integration.
  • Be accountable for technical designs, at various stages from conceptual design to detailed engineering designs and ensure compliance to standards and codes.
  • Analyse economics of design solutions and provide actionable feedback relating to technical-cost benefit optimisation.
  • Establish processes, standards, tools, and templates for the engineering team to deliver industry leading designs and optimized solar photovoltaic projects.
  • Lead the team in preparation of tender BOQ and cost for project tenders
  • Conduct site visits to project sites from opportunity to project implementation and resolve PV system challenges.
  • Hold design review meetings with internal and external stakeholders as needed to maintain proper quality assurance and quality controls on projects.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, manage competing priorities and overcomes obstacles to successfully meet project milestones.
  • Assists development team, construction team and operations team with engineering-related questions.
  • Able to make quick decisions and solve technical problems to provide an efficient environment for project implementation.
  • Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the latest material and installation pricing
  • Identify system deficiencies in Technical team and implements effective solutions.
  • Ensure teams follow the correct procedures, policies, and documentation requirements across project phases.


Management

  • Identify resource and equipment requirements, efficient capacity planning and manage software and hardware availability within budget and schedule.
  • Improve the effectiveness of the department’s internal systems, increasing efficiency and reducing administrative overhead.
  • Provide technical training to teams when required and serve as a technical mentor to team members.
  • Work closely with Managers of other associated departments during all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Report regularly to superior on key aspects of the business, in accordance with routine and ad-hoc reporting requirements.



Job Requirement :

  • Bachelor degree in technical discipline
  • At least 5 years of project technical or design experience
  • Working knowledge of construction and electrical principles
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite and PVsyst
  • Experience with MS Project and Sketchup is a plus
  • Highly organized and proactive
  • Eager to learn and develop a deeper understanding of PV design and construction
  • Able to work independently and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
  • Able to work in tandem with a global team of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must be able to travel as required.
