We’re seeking a hands-on Technical Lead to define and drive the architecture of our next-generation SaaS platform. You’ll own end-to-end system design, enforce best practices in security and scalability, and mentor a small engineering team to deliver high-quality software.

The Role:

As our Technical Lead and Solution Architect, you’ll own the end-to-end technical vision of our software. You’ll design the system architecture and ensure that security, performance, and compliance (HIPAA, PIPEDA/PHIPA) are integral to every layer. You’ll mentor and guide a small, highly talented team—including backend, frontend, and AI engineers—and help us deliver a robust, scalable, and secure EHR solution.

• Architecture & Design:

• Define a modular, microservices-oriented architecture (or modular monolith) that cleanly separates core domains.
• Draft system diagrams, data-flow charts, and security zone maps.

• Technology Leadership:

• Evaluate and select front-end (e.g. React, Vue), back-end (Node.js, Python), database (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), and AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, spaCy).
• Architect charting integrations using best-in-class libraries (e.g. D3.js, Chart.js) and ensure they’re pluggable.

• Security & Compliance:

• Lead implementation of end-to-end encryption (TLS 1.2+, AES-256), role-based access control, audit logging, and secure session management.
• Collaborate on policies and procedures to satisfy HIPAA, PIPEDA/PHIPA, SOC 2, and GDPR.

• Infrastructure & DevOps:

• Design CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/K8s), automated testing, and monitoring/alerting (Prometheus/Grafana or equivalent).
• Optimize for high availability (99.9%+), horizontal scalability, and disaster-recovery (RPO/RTO targets).

• Team Leadership & Mentorship:

• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and champion best practices (clean code, SOLID principles, automated tests).
• Foster a collaborative culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Work closely with product, UX/UI, QA, and AI teams to translate user needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Communicate complex technical concepts in clear, non-technical terms to leadership and clients.

• Experience:

• 7+ years in software development, with ≥3 years architecting and leading teams.
• Proven track record building secure, scalable SaaS platforms—preferably in healthcare or other highly regulated industries.

• Technical Skills:

• Deep expertise in modern web frameworks (React, Vue,) and backend (Node.js, Python, Java).
• Strong database design skills (relational + NoSQL) and data modeling experience.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration—exposure to NLP, predictive analytics, or AI microservices a plus.
• Hands-on in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

• Security & Compliance:

• In-depth knowledge of HIPAA/PIPEDA/PHIPA requirements and experience implementing compliant architectures.
• Well-versed in encryption, authentication (OAuth2, JWT), and auditing best practices.
