WHO YOU ARE - Project Overview:

ServiceNow is one of the core systems and central to our strategy for accelerating delivery with modern technologies. As a Security Consultant for ServiceNow, you will be part of our nimble and global agile cross-functional team working on one of the most complex ServiceNow implementations across various modules and business lines.

Contractor's Role:

We are seeking a skilled and strategic ServiceNow Security Consultant to lead the development and implementation of security best practices across our ServiceNow platform. This role will be responsible for defining access standards, establishing governance and control procedures, and overseeing the ongoing administration of security-related configurations. The ideal candidate will work closely with our Identity Management Systems and key stakeholders to ensure secure, compliant, and scalable solutions that align with enterprise security policies.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Define and enforce platform-wide security standards, access control models, and role-based permissions
  • Collaborate with our Identity Management Systems (IDM) team to support seamless integration and automation of user provisioning and deprovisioning
  • Establish and document governance frameworks, control procedures, and audit procedures related to ServiceNow security
  • Perform regular reviews of user access and security configurations to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Advice on security impacts of new feature deployments and customizations within the ServiceNow platform
  • Serve as subject matter expert on ServiceNow security and provide guidance to platform team, development team, and key stakeholders

Qualifications (must haves):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of work experience in ServiceNow, with a focus on platform security, access control, and administration
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow ACLs, roles, groups, and security best practices
  • Familiarity with identity management systems
  • Solid understanding of ITIL processes and how they relate to ServiceNow architecture and security
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work efficiently across technology teams

Nice to have:

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and/or ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (Security Operations or another relevant module)
  • Experience with ServiceNow GRC/IRM (Governance, Risk, and Compliance / Integrated Risk Management) module
  • Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27701, or other security and compliance frameworks
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with identity providers using SAML, OAuth, SCIM, or LDAP
  • Experience in cybersecurity, including risk assessments, audit response, or vulnerability management
  • Experience working in large, enterprise environments with complex role structures and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong scripting skills (JavaScript, Glide API) for developing custom security rules and automations within ServiceNow
  • Experience supporting audits or regulatory compliance initiatives (e.g. SOX, HIPPA, GDPR, etc.) related to system access and controls
  • Strong analytical, design thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong written/verbal communications skills.
  • Great team player and interpersonal skills

Pay Rate Range

Min Pay Rate Max Pay Rate Currency Unit 72 84 USD hourly
