About The Role
Spiegelworld is looking for a Technical Director to join the team at DiscoShow at the LINQ in Las Vegas. The Technical Director is responsible for upholding the look, feel and vibe of the day-to-day operations and building needs of the Spiegelworld productions. As Technical Director you will coordinate with the Production Manager on all production activities and operations, monitor the crew, and adjust schedules as needed. In addition, the Technical Director will be responsible for monitoring productivity rates and product standards, implementing safety programs, and organizing the repair of any damaged equipment. This position reports to the Production Manager. The salary for this position is $88,400.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee and Manage show crew. Collaborating with the Video, Lighting & Audio departments in highly technical production elements.
- Monitor crew training to ensure that there is crew available for show and rehearsal coverage.
- Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
- Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
- Work with crew leads to compile regular maintenance tasks, and schedule maintenance calls.
- Schedule applicable safety training and renewals for the crew.
- Maintain/ Update and distribute weekly and biweekly inspections.
- Purchasing materials for general show operations.
- Always maintain a safe working environment by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for opening and closing the site as needed.
- Perform other duties as required by your manager
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Spiegelworld policies, practices, and procedures.
What You Bring
- Advanced Knowledge of Lighting, Audio and Video Systems.
- Able to effectively communicate in English in written and verbal forms
- Basic knowledge computer software to include Google Docs, Sheets and Meets, MS Word, Excel, and Docs as well as office equipment, i.e. laminator, P-touch labeler and copier
- Excellent organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to effectively delegate projects
- Ability to exhibit extreme patience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in managing in a theatrical environment
- Minimum 5 years professional Experience in A/V and or Lighting Disciplines.
- Osha 30 or completed in 90 days upon employment
- IATSE crew management experience
- Successful background check clearance and reference checks prior to hire
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled/needed.
- Must have valid work authorization for the US.
