Technical Designer - SolidWorks Permanent Full-Time\n\nSalary - Circa £45,000 DOE\n Location - In office, Leicester \n\nWe're excited to be supporting a leading provider of innovative retail display and point-of-sale solutions, dedicated to helping brands connect with customers through impactful, high-quality design. With decades of experience in the industry, they specialise in turning creative concepts into expertly engineered, manufacturable products that perform in real-world retail environments.\n\nDue to continuous growth and high demand for their services, they are now seeking an experienced Technical Designer to create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. The role involves close collaboration with design, production, and supplier teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective display solutions.\n\nResponsibilities, but are not limited to\n\nCreating accurate and detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks, based on design briefs, concepts, or client requirements\nProducing fully detailed technical drawings for manufacture, including BOMs (bills of materials), part specifications, and fabrication instructions\nCollaborating with design and production teams to ensure feasibility, functionality, and cost-effectiveness of designs\nParticipating in design reviews and providing engineering input to improve functionality, assembly, and manufacturability\nEnsuring all technical documentation complies with industry standards, company policies, and health & safety regulations\nModifying and revising existing designs based on feedback, technical limitations, or material changes\nMaintaining version control and accurate records of all design files using PDM systems or internal project management tools\nLiaising with suppliers and fabricators to ensure component compatibility and resolve technical queriesExperiences required\n\nProficient in creating 3D models using SolidWorks\nCompetent in producing full technical drawing packs for manufacture (DFM)\nExperience designing display stands for retail or hospitality environments, including POS, POP, end-aisle units, and branded displays\nAbility to conduct site surveys using hand measuring tools or laser devices\nKnowledge of designing with steel, sheet metal, and joinery products\nConfident in meeting with clients and suppliersPackage\n\n37.5 Hours P/W | Monday to Thursday | 8:30am to 5pm | Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm | 33 Days Holiday Inc.
